The bunting's already up, setting the village centre a flutter with red, white and blue in readiness for Chobham's High Street Diamond Jubilee party, being organised by residents for residents and all free.

Sunday June 3rd will begin with a service of thanksgiving at St Lawrence Church for the Queen’s 60 year reign at 10 o’clock.
Then at 12 pm the High Street is being closed to traffic for five hours. At 12.30pm, the party starts, not with a bang, but with a peal of the church bells.

Later Tte Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant will be relayed on the big screen live in the church.

In the pedestrianised High Street, there will be a Hog Roast (buy £3.50 tickets in advance from Seymours or Deborah Marie’s in Chob-High-Street), children’s games, musicians, Punch and Judy. Bring yourself, your family, neighbours, chairs, plastic glasses, a picnic or come and eat at village centre eateries.
